Q. What makes a BEMABUSTIER’S custom piece so special?
BEMABUSTIER’S custom pieces are all hand crafted out of our Brooklyn, New York studio. Every custom piece is made to order and based on the client’s specific measurements. Once a client’s measurement is taken an individual pattern is draped and drafted from scratch. The pattern making process allows us to ensure the client with the ultimate fit. BEMABUSTIER’S custom pieces are made using only highest quality of notions and fabrics.
Q. What is the difference between an BEMABUSTIER’S custom piece and one from off the rack?
BEMABUSTIER’S takes pride and passion when designing their pieces. It is impossible for a piece off the rack to fit a women’s body as precise as a BEMABUSTIER’S custom piece. Each piece is a one of kind tailored to every woman’s needs making it so special.
Q. What if I loose or gain weight in between taking my measurements, construction of a piece or after a piece has been completed?
It is generally normal for a women’s weight to regularly fluctuate. Please take into account when building your order if your weight regularly fluctuate it is highly recommended that your fabric of choice has a stretch along with our lacing system as opposed to zippers or hooks.
Q. Can a garment be changed in shape or fit once completed?
Once an order is placed you have within 24 hours to make changes. Once the piece is completed there is no way to go back and make changes without having to remake an entire new piece. We strongly emphasize that you double-check your measurements. Getting your measurements done by a professional seamstress is highly recommended for a perfect fit.
Q. What if I do not live in Brooklyn, New York?
Currently we do not have a showroom we do however accommodate clients via telephone, video chatting or email. Generally based on the measurement sheet provided to you we have a great amount of detail and the ability to make your custom piece without having to physically see you.
Q. Why are our custom pieces priced so highly?
BEMABUSTIER’S is a small one women studio. There is no assembly line of manufactured garments or pattern cutters. Our patterns are made by hand and cut to the client’s specifics. Each custom design is a unique one of a kind that you will find no one else with. These custom pieces are couture one of a kind and not ready to wear. A lot of time goes into each and ever piece, as it is its own masterpiece.
Q. Is there a less expensive alternative or version?
Prices do not necessarily reflect fabrics and notions used in the construction of the pieces. Pricing is calculated by the base price and required time spent making the piece. I do strongly stress these pieces or all hand crafted and do take some time to make.
Q. Do you offer a Ready-To-Wear version or line?
Yes, we currently have a Ready-To-Wear collection. These pieces are hand crafted as well but are not one of a kind. A limited number of these pieces have been made.
Q. How long does it take to make a custom piece?
It generally takes about two weeks upon receiving your measurements. However we do offer expedited services for an additional fee if you need your custom piece in a timely manner.
